Mid-Level DevOps Engineer No C2C

NOVUS Professional Services is seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to work with our premier Denver client. The successful candidate will be an expert in DevOps engineering in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, with the experience and ability to both execute all job functions as well as train more junior personnel in the finer points of the role.

You must be:

  • Willing to work on-site in a hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law and regulation.

Essential Job Skills:

  • Automate and streamline operations and processes.
  • Create, update, and maintain technical documentation related to the Kubernetes platform.
  • Responsible for Kubernetes cluster management, maintenance, and support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the lower pre-production environments as it relates to the Platform.
  • Participate in technical debt meetings, make recommendations on improvements, upgrades, and bugs, and complete resulting action items as assigned.
  • Provide support for issues related to the Kubernetes platform.
  • Leverage Docker Engine to run multiple Tomcat instances as Containerized app servers.
  • Develop Docker images to support development and testing Teams and their pipeline and orchestrate Docker images and containers using Kubernetes by creating master and node instances.
  • Write Jenkins pipeline as shared libraries from build through deployment.
  • Automate infrastructure using Python and Shell scripting.
  • Handle AWS (storage, application services, deployment and management) provisioning.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge in services like EC2, S3, Route 53, RDS, IAM, Load Balancing, auto scaling, Cloudwatch, Cloud Front, Cloud Formation, Redshift, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda.
  • Work within a Scaled Agile Framework, helping to maximize the flow of value through the development process.
  • Develop automated pipelines for deploying infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code) to boost efficiency and repeatability, using Python, Ansible, Hashicorp Terraform, and Packer.
  • Experience using Jenkins or other continuous integration tools.

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Netflix OSS stack (Asgard, Eureka).
  • Application development experience.
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or other monitoring tools.
