SBC
Long Distance
September, 2004 - July, 2005 Pleasanton, California
I was
brought in by The Management Network Group (TMNG) to provide consulting services
to their client, SBC Long Distance.
TMNG was retained to develop a
comprehensive process and supporting toolset to support analysis and corrective
action for unguided and unbilled usage records.
I was
brought in to provide software engineering expertise in developing SQL queries
across three platforms: Oracle, Teradata, and MS Access. I was also tasked
with developing an Access-based toolkit to support the process.
I consolidated a set of over
75 separate SQL queries into a suite of only 5 streams that run unattended to
extract large volumes of data on a regular basis, for use in the revenue
recovery process.
I designed and developed a
suite of Access-based tools called Exception Management Call Analysis Toolkit (EMCAT),
with an intuitive interface to enable
users to perform a variety of complex analytical functions with minimal human
intervention. It also automates many of the recovery steps to minimize
human resource requirements and maximize return on investment.
The project resulted in over
$5 million in recovered revenue due to the processes and tools we developed.
