Mediacentric Group / GoSolo
October, 2000 - January, 2001
Tampa, Florida
I worked as a SYSTEMS
ENGINEER and BUSINESS ANALYST
on an OSS design project for GoSolo’s CLEC startup initiative. GoSolo group had
embarked on an effort to start a new communications company to offer convergent
Web-based communications services, including e-mail, voice-mail, fax, and text
messaging. They needed a flexible, scalable, and highly-customizable suite of
OSS packages to support both the wholesale and retail lines of business.
I worked with a team of consultants tasked with gathering their requirements,
defining architecture, and designing a set of integrated applications that would
support their business. I reviewed and evaluated commercially available
Order Entry, Customer Care, Rating, and Billing applications. I created a
matrix of business-level requirements based on extensive input from subject
matter experts on GoSolo's staff, and used this matrix as the basis for scoring
the competing offerings.
As part of the high-level design effort, I
created Business and System Use Cases using the Rational Unified Process (RUP)
and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
