Compuware Corporation
January, 1990 - September, 1997 Michigan,
Ohio, Virginia, Colorado
I worked as a
PROJECT
MANAGER,
SYSTEMS
ENGINEER, and
BUSINESS
ANALYST on a variety of projects
for different clients of Compuware Corporation, as well as on numerous internal
projects.
I created a training class, including all training materials, for the ICCP’s
Certified Data Processing Professional exam. Trained 35 students in the
Columbus, Ohio branch, of whom 28 passed the exam on the first attempt.
As Team Leader of from four to 12 professional staff, I conducted annual
reviews, monthly update sessions and administrative reviews.
I played an integral role in getting two new branches up and running in
Columbus, Ohio and Colorado Springs, Colorado. The effort included integrating
new employees through acquisition or new-hire, locating office space, and
developing or customizing procedures.
I prepared and conducted an internal class
on Time Management, based on the principles of the Franklin Time Management
system.
I provided technical support to the Recruiting department at job fairs in
Colorado and Texas, conducting technical interviews of over 300 candidates.
I launched a branch newsletter for the Colorado branch and served as editor for
two years, from the first four-page issue to a sixteen-page edition with
photographs, branch information, and articles on local events and training
topics.
I managed a project to construct a computer lab for internal training in the
Colorado branch, including evaluating and selecting PCs and servers, and network
and telecommunications equipment, desks and miscellaneous furniture.
I prepared a proposal for new business with the Colorado Springs Fire
Department, to build a system to manage their work scheduling and tracking.
I participated in the development of a major proposal for a project with MCI,
comprising over 32,000 man-hours of effort.
I contributed to the development of a major proposal for Compuware to take over
all vendor responsibilities with US West.
As a founding member of the Colorado Program Management Office (PMO), I prepared
and conducted an internal training and mentoring program for Project Management.
