I was brought in by Hitachi Consulting to support several key quality
initiatives in Billing Operations group for Comcast's VoIP offering, Comcast
Digital Voice (CDV).
I designed and developed a statistics-based validation toolkit to certify a
new XML interface between the DST Billing engine and the Neptune Mediation and
Rating engine. The tool evaluated both the old batch interface and the new
real-time interface from several different perspectives and quantified all
deviations between the two. This testing uncovered several hidden defects
that were corrected before the software was put in production.
I defined an end-to-end testing process for the entire Billing Operations
group, formalizing a process based on industry standards and best practices.
The new process set out clearly defined roles and responsibilities, and
supported the creation of two parallel test paths to increase testing throughput
while increasing the quality of the testing effort.
I also designed and developed multiple executive dashboards to monitor
development, configuration management, testing, and program management for
Billing Operations. These dashboards provide an up-to-the-minute summary
of operations and results, providing visibility that highlights opportunities
for process improvement throughout the organization.
