Banc
One Services Corp
October, 1991 - October, 1992 Columbus,
Ohio
I worked as a
SYSTEMS
ENGINEER,
BUSINESS
ANALYST, and
PROJECT
MANAGER on a banking application
project for Banc One Services Corp. As part of their recent round of
acquisitions, they needed to introduce new consistent platform and teller
applications through all their markets.
As a senior designer, I participated in the architectural design effort,
producing the overall architecture in three months. I designed the portion
of the system called the Product Guide - the subsystem used by banking officers
as a sales tool for all the bank’s products.
I conducted an in-depth analysis of the requirements (already gathered by
banking analysts) using a methodology called Output Event Driven Methodology (OEDM).
After compiling a data dictionary comprising nearly 3,000 individual data
elements, I designed the complete user interface, including nearly 150 screens.
I prepared and delivered a 2-week long training itinerary that included an
overview of the architecture and design, a detailed course on the development
tools, and because many of the new developers were mainframe developers, a one
day course on PC usage and navigation.
As a junior project manager responsible for the Product Guide development team,
I managed the schedule and budget for a team of 17 analysts, developers, and
testers. I managed a crashed schedule with extensive overtime to a
successful production implementation in May in the Mansfield, OH branch.
